Goa is a state in western India with coastlines stretching along the Arabian Sea. Its long history as a Portuguese colony prior to 1961 is evident in its preserved 17th-century churches and the area\u2019s tropical spice plantations. Goa is also known for its beaches, ranging from popular stretches at Baga and Palolem to those in laid-back fishing villages such as Agonda.<\/p>\n

Tourism is mostly focused on the coastal areas of Goa. However, there are lots of other beautiful places to visit too – forts, museums, churches, local market.<\/p>\n

Planning a trip?<\/p>\n

If you are planning a trip to Goa, please first decide the objective. Else you would spend most time in travelling and your trip would become exhaustive.<\/p>\n

Mainly Goa can be segregated in three parts – North Goa, South Goa & Center Goa.<\/p>\n

1. If you are planning trip to visit all places in Goa: In this case Center Goa<\/strong> will be your apt choice as you can schedule your visits to all places and come back to your hotel. Airport is also located close to this area. The capital of Goa – Panaji. One can plan trip to museums, churches, forts and nearby beaches.<\/p>\n

2. If you are planning trip to visit majorly beaches – Enjoy night clubs and water sports and crowd and local markets: In this case you should stay either of these 3 places in North Goa<\/strong> – Candolim, Calungute & Baga. These three beaches are actually connected. Candolim is little more calm whereas Baga beach is crowded and have water sports.<\/p>\n

3. If you are planning only a relaxed, luxurious trip to beach-side: In this case, pick up a good hotel in South Goa<\/strong>. They have their private beaches. Not much to see around in nearby locality but the hotels and beaches are luxurious and beautiful.<\/p>\n

My personal choice would be near Candolim Beach – Its not in the extremes.  A good place if planning a balanced trip – not to miss out on tour and have relaxed holiday too. The beach is beautiful and place also has good connectivity.<\/p>\n
